 May I please ask for your advice :

 

 

1.I am working in a hospital as an interpreter. Sometimes I have to interpret for women who  do not speak English and come to the hospital to terminate their pregnancies.,

 Does  my interpreting  work lead to  unwholesome deeds?

 

2. Taking tablets to treat worms, and  taking antibiotics to treat infection such as  killing bacterias .  Are these treatments lead to  breaking the First Precept?

 

3. I accidentally step on ants and snails.  Do these accidents violate the First Precept.? 

 

 

How do I  overcome these problems?

To become a translator for a patient, when the patient understands and decides to proceed with abortion, the translator therefore involves in this unwholesome deed of the patient.

The first precept (Abstain from Killing) means avoid the action of separating a body and a soul of being.  Worm is also a being with bodily/mental objects. Hence, to kill worm is therefore a violation of the first precept. On the other hand, bacteria is a being without soul, hence using anti bacteria is therefore not a violation of the first precept.

To step on ants and snails unintentionally is not a violation of the first precept. Nevertheless, if the ant or snail felt angry towards that individual, and when the timing allows, the two of them meet again, paying back the debt of Karma can happen.

Hence, those who do not wish to have this happening in life, should extend merit to all beings and make a wish, before stepping out of the residence, “Wishing not to have debt of karma with any beings”

1.ข้าพเจ้าทำงานในโรงพยาบาลโดยีหน้าที่เป็นล่าม บางครั้งข้าพเจ้าต้องช่วยแปลภาษาให้คนไข้หญิงที่พูดภาษาอังกฤษไม่ได้ และมาโรงพยาบาลเพื่อทำแท้ง การที่ข้าพเจ้าช่วยแปลนั้นถือว่าเป็นการนำไปสู่อกุศลกรรมหรือไม่?

 

2. 2.การใช้ยาเพื่อรักษา worms และการใช้ยาแก้อักเสบเพื่อรักษาอาการติดเชื้อ(เช่น ย่าฆ่าแบคทีเรีย) ถือว่าเป็นการผิดศีลข้อหนึ่งหรือไม่?
   

3. 3.ข้าพเจ้าเหยียบมดและหอยทากโดยไม่ทันระวัง อย่างนี้ถือว่าผิดศีลข้อหนึ่งหรือไม่?

การเป็นล่ามแปลภาษาให้คนไข้เข้าใจ เมื่อคนไข้เข้าใจแล้วจึงไปทำแท้ง  ถือว่าผู้ทำหน้าที่เป็นล่ามแปลภาษา  เข้าไปมีส่วนร่วมในการประพฤติอกุศลกรรม (บาป) ของคนไข้

ศีลข้อปาณาติบาต หมายถึงเว้นฆ่าสัตว์ถึงทำจิตของสัตว์ให้หลุดออกจากร่าง  wormsเป็นสิ่งมีชีวิตที่มีรูปนาม  ดังนั้นการใช้ยาฆ่าworms จึงถือว่าผิดศีลข้อปาณาติบาต ตรงกันข้าม แบคทีเรียเป็นสิ่งที่มีชีวิตที่มีรูปอย่างเดียว การใช้ยาฆ่าแบคทีเรียจึงไม่ผิดศีลข้อปาณาติบาต

การเหยียบมดหรือหอยทากโดยไม่มีเจตนาถือว่าไม่ผิดศีลข้อปาณาติบาต แต่หากมดหรือหอยทากผูกพยาบาทกับผู้เหยียบ และเมื่อใดเหตุปัจจัยลงตัวให้สัตว์ทั้งสองโคจรมาเจอกับผู้เหยียบ  เมื่อนั้นการชดใช้หนี้เวรกรรม (บาป) ย่อมเกิดขึ้นได้ ดังนั้นผู้ใดประสงค์จะไม่ให้เหตุการณ์เช่นนี้เกิดขึ้น ก่อนก้าวเท้าออกจากบ้านต้องอุทิศบุญกุศลให้สรรพสัตว์ แล้วอธิษฐาน “จงอย่าได้มีหนี้เวรกรรมต่อสัตว์ใดๆ อีกเลย”
